Shelby Electric SuperCar Could Go "YEARS" Without Charge!!!!!!!

World’s fastest production car to go electric – with “several years between charging”

Automotive company Shelby SuperCars' (SSC) Ultimate Aero model made
news last year when it set the land-speed record among production cars
by pushing just past 256 miles-per-hour.

This week, according to GizMag, SSC announced that it was in the
planning stages for the Ultimate Aero EV, an electric version of the
record-setting vehicle that, if the company's hopes are realized, would
be able to go without a recharge for as long as "several years,"
according to the somewhat vague press release, which also didn't give
any details regarding this potentially revolutionary car's
construction. Still, the release did reveal that an innovative drive
train would feature the energy-saving agent.

Although SSC doesn't expect to release the prototype until early 2009,
you might want to start saving up now, as the company's models are by
no means cheap. Why is it that electric cars, running on such an
economical power source, are so dad-gum uneconomical?
