C3 was a great album!
I think people were upset about it because it wasnt like his mixtapes, it was an actual ALBUM.

Wayne is getting kind of annoying to me but he didnt fall off, he's just taking a different route. In the next 5 years I wouldnt be surprised if he lost the hip hop community but I promise you he'll have more money an way more fans in other gnres of music. he's not a rapper, he's an artist, NIG difference

Exactly...

i just miss the rappers that made me rewind the shit back becuz i couldnt believe what he said....wayne has never done that...everything that wayne has done thus far has been done, so i guess grab a guitar n auto tune n that makes u an artist nowadays...smh...its like "Ya Boy" said...."Pac gone so fuck it he'll do." i think the "hoods" of america need a leader n lil wayne is prime candidate...even tho he kisses men, sucks on lollipops, n dresses like prom queens but hey times r changing....if being gangster means kissing men on the mouth then im tinker bell.

lol at Lex ... u true about artists making u rewind ... try out that Mos Def - Casa Bey track ... you'll rewind it definitely ...

and G.C. i know you dont have nothing to prove to me or anybody else ... u making music for the love of it ... not cause you want to get attention (sounds ass backwards) ...

and u can have ya opinion of not liking wayne or bumping him much ... but saying Carter 1 was lyrically better than Carter 2 and 3 is ASS backwards in my opinion ...

3 alone shits on Carter 1 lyrically ... of course manny beats were fire...

but Carter 3 production is NEXT level ...

every "Tha Carter" album Wayne did were totally different. he always switched it up. its called Tha Carter because thats him and with him, he's still growing and with every album it shows.

Tha Carter was him as a young man releasing his "anger" or whatever you wanna call it

Tha Carter II was him in transition to being a man, and pretty much saying he's shitting on yall LOL

Tha Carter III was him as a man. his lyrics were grown up. he is a mn and he can do whatever he wants. Lyric wise C3 shits on everything he's released. they had substance, they actually meant something [for the most part]
Mr. Carter
Comfortable
Dr. Carter
Tie My Hands
Mrs. Officer
Shoot Me Down
Playing With Fire
DontGetIt [Misunderstood]

those were tracks that said he was grown and had something to say.
and I think he ended it PERFECT with Misunderstood.

now that he's established he's grown and he's done everything he can do in hip hop, he's moving on to something different.

Misunderstood could have been killed way harder....he still has to mention about him being the best alive..."self-proclaimed" of course and him having all this money...wayne is not all that great at staying on subject...i noticed that in carter III...dont get me wrong hes a good rapper but he just has ADD in his songs...but all i really hear outta wayne nowadays is money money money money money...i better then you...i do it bigger then you...smh...come on...this dude shits on his own fans in his songs. if hes done everything he can do in hip hop then my God...rap/hip hop IS about the lyrics n what you say...thats what sets you apart...thats the art of it..of course the beat matters but if you always got hot beats well then ur just letting the beat do all the work...look at Pac...he took the beats that others could never make hits out of n made em into hits....quite frankly..when it comes to music..kids r getting dumber nowadays and intsead of setting the bar higher..these lazy ass newer generations r trying to find short cuts n changing the defintions of terms we use in hip hop like "classic" or "lyrical." they just dont mean the same thing anymore.

LOL
thank you peoples ..

but I understand what you talkin about Lex because wayne doesnt talk about much in a lot of his songs BUT whatever he says is always clever.

wayne understands the difference in a MIXTAPE and an ALBUM.
mixtapes are basically shit that wont make it to an album and since wayne records SOOOOO much, he has to release this shit or he'll be like Dr. Dre with over "hundreds of unreleased tracks" but then nobody would care anymore LOL ..

anyway, in conclusion, Lil Wayne does release a lot of bullshit "im better than you" "money money money" but nobody can play with words better than him. and when he DOES say something positive or with substance, you can be damn sure that shit is hot..

Eminem talks about a lot of nothing with most of his songs too but he's clever and his word play is sick. and when he says something important, its REAL!

I respect those 2 artists more than anybody in the game. they can please anybody because they are so diverse.
they can be real, they can be funny, they can talk shit, they can pretty much do whatever they want and STILL sell records!
