Jaged Edge Signed To Slip-N-Slide
Does anyone remember the group Jagged Edge? The late 90s/early 00's R&B collective had hits like "Let's Get Married," "He Can't Love You" and "Where The Party At."
Most people didn't even know that the group released an album in '07 called the Baby Makin Project that rendered the single "Put a Little Umph In It" because the single and album failed to gain any buzz. The group was subsequently dropped from Def Jam.
Well, if you have been wondering what happened to J.E., look no further.
Slip-N-Slide Records has come to save the day. One of the top independent labels in the industry, S-N-S was founded by Ted Lucas. The imprint has the group in the studio now, working on new material for a CD scheduled for release in '10.
"I'm excited to welcome Jagged Edge to the Slip-N-Slide Records family," said Lucas. "They are one of the preeminent R&B groups of our time. They are going to pick up right where they left off and bring their fans some great new hit songs."
"We are happy to embark on our collaboration between 581 Muzik Groupe and Slip-N-Slide Records," adds member Brian Casey. "They have been a dominating force in rap music and we have been a driving force in R&B music. Together Ted Lucas and Jagged Edge will make for a groundbreaking 2010! Look out for our new album in 2010."
But if there's one thing that might hinder their triumphant return is the group's lack of humility. Here's hoping a new label and a new CD brings forth a new attitude.
