(Sept. 28) - Aspiring actresses and models in Boston should be on alert for a man posing as a movie producer who tried to lure women into sex acts with promises of a high-paying film role, the local police warned.
At least three women have complained to police that at an "audition," the suspect wanted them to perform seductive or sexual scenes to secure a part in what authorities say is a non-existent film.
"He is a complete fraud and not in the business," said Boston Police Lieutenant Detective Charles Wilson. "The [fake] movie is a comedy, but the script is sexual and he has them act out the script with him."
No charges have been filed against the Massachusetts man in the ongoing investigation.
The Boston Globe spoke to a man who confirms that he is the target of the investigation. His name has not been revealed, but he says he is a legitimate producer and denies any wrongdoing: "I am not preying on anyone," the man said. "What did I do that was illegal? What did I do?"
Police urge other possible victims to come forward. The suspect allegedly makes contact with targets through legitimate industry casting Web sites.
