Police Continue Push Against Drug Dealers

DETROIT -- Police are continuing their assault on high-level drug dealers in Detroit.
Police Chief Warren Evans said Friday that during three separate raids of homes in Detroit and Ecorse, officers seized more than 10,000 grams of cocaine, 6,000 grams of marijuana, 300 grams of methamphetamines and more than $53,000 in cash.
More than 22 pounds cocaine with an estimated street value of more than $4 million was seized Wednesday night from an Ecorse home, along with $52,000 in cash, six handguns and one assault-type rifle. Three men were arrested.
Two homes also were raided in Detroit.
About 1,130 pounds of marijuana with a street value of more than $5 million was recovered late last month in two separate raids. Earlier raids resulted in police seizing more than 50 pounds of cocaine.
