Little girl accidentally shoots baby brother in head

A toddler is in a critical condition in hospital after his
five-year-old sister accidentally shot him in the head while playing
with her father's air rifle in the UK city of Brimingham.

Bakht Zaman (29) was watching over his children, daughter Asna Almas
(five) and son Rashid Rullah (18 months), in his garden shed. “Bakht
was cleaning his air rifle. When his mobile phone rang, he put the gun
down for a moment,” the children's grandfather Bakhd Rammand (48)
explained to the ‘Sun’.

His lack of watchfulness resulted in tragedy. Five-year-old Asna picked
up the gun and managed to shoot it, hitting her baby brother in the
back of the head.

Bakhd Rammand said: “It all went so quickly. It was a terrible accident
and we are hoping and praying that Rashid will be healthy again. He is
my life.”

The baby was immediately taken to a nearby hospital. Doctors described his condition as critical but stable.

Bakhd Rammand added: “His mother is still in shock. I didn’t want my
won handling his gun around the children. I will make sure that no gun
ever enters the house again.”
