Girl Sucked Into Storm Drain & Dragged 70 Metres!!!!!!!

A three-year-old girl was sucked into a storm drain and forced 70
metres through a concrete pipe before her father managed to save her.

The narrow storm drain scraped Leona Baxter's arms and legs raw as she
was squashed and smashed into a rock in the tunnel on Sunday during bad
flooding in the UK. She was then spat into the river Wear, at
Chester-le-Street, County Durham.

While a passer by phoned emergency services, her father, Mark Baxter,
leapt into action. Realising the drain must eventually empty into the
nearest river, he rushed over to find her floating face down in the
water. Mark pulled the girl out just moments before currents were about
to sweep her away.

He brought Leona to his wife Beverly who started first aid. The girl
was taken to hospital but is expected to make a full recovery.

Emergency service sources said last night that if it were not for the
girl's father and his “incredibly quick thinking”, Leona would probably
have died.
