Now Advertising In Outer Space!!!!!!!

JP Aerospace, which calls itself "America's other space programme" uses
lighter than air balloons to carry packages into the upper atmosphere.

The organisation, which is staffed by volunteers and aims to open
up access to space to the general public, says it has had request to
send up toy figures, coffee beans and table tennis balls as well as
it's more regular fare of advertising billboards.



The balloon carrying the platform reaches a height of 20 miles, which
is high enough for the sky to turn black and the earth's horizon to be
a blue curve.



JP Aerospace then take hundreds of pictures of the balloon before returning everything to earth by parachute.



John Powell, President of JP Aerospace said: "Companies are looking for
ways to get above the over crowded field of advertisements.



"There are a lot of race cars and basketball stars out there, but, not
too many spaceships, they get noticed. The field is wide open."



Other companies offer a similar service but use rocket propulsion techniques instead of the balloons.



Prices start from £200 for a 2x2in advert to £2,100 for a 4x8in full panel.
