The Deadly Birthday Present!!!!!!!

A ride on a quad bike bought for a German man by his girlfriend
as a gift turned into a deadly birthday present when he crashed into a
car and died.

Patrick N. († 33) of Sonneberg, Germany would have celebrated his
34th birthday on October 3. To take advantage of the good weather, his
girlfriend gave him his birthday gift one week early - a gift
certificate for a wild drive on a quad bike (22 horsepower, 80km per
hour).

The man was racing through the streets when tragedy struck. Did he
overestimate his skills? Did the quad bike have technical problems?

Shocked friend Maurice G. was there when the horror took place. He told
BILD: “He was driving completely normally and then he suddenly drove
directly to the left, as if he were on tracks, into the oncoming
traffic.”

Patrick crashed into a BMW 5-series at 50km per hour. A police
spokesman said: “He went head-first into the windshield. The impact was
so strong that he had no chance. The BMW-driver (24) suffered from
shock but was otherwise uninjured."

The residents of Sonneberg have been mourning the tragic accident.
Patrick N. was a keen amateur footballer, and the president of his
local club said: “Patrick was a good lad. In the last year, he became
the coach of the first team and brought the club into the city league.”

The exact cause of the accident is unknown but officials are investigating the wreckage for clues.
