It's Illegal To Wear An Obama Shirt On Election Day

I know I start my fair share of rumors, but sometimes I get the chance to dispel them too.Have a look below.

I got about seven text messages yesterday from people perpetuating nonsense in hopes of causing confusion on Election Day.

Clearly a change is eminent. And in approximately 40 days Americans will be running to the polls to pick a new leader.

Someone out their must be shook, because a mass email is being sent around stating the following:

"DO NOT wear any Obama T-shirts, pins, or hats to the the polls on November 4th because it's considered campaigning. A law they're counting on us not being aware of."
This information is an utter lie! I did a quick google search earlier this morning and this is what I found:

Federal law states that it is not illegal to wear T-shirts, etc to voting places. “Electioneering” is illegal.
Example: Telling people to vote for Obama while having an Obama button on. This is illegal.
To reiterate, it is not a violation of law for a voter to go into a polling place with a button, T-shirt, hat, etc…. so long as the voter leaves the voting place promptly.
Election judges, campaigners, etc., is prohibited from wearing paraphernalia while inside the voting place.
I will be running this one again on as we get closer to the "big" day. I just had to do my part to put you all on to it now.
