R. Kelly Awarded $3.4 Million in Tour Back Pay
On Monday (October 6) R. Kelly was awarded $3.4 million in tour back pay resulting from a lawsuit against promoters of his "Double Up" tour.
R. Kelly had sued Rowe Entertainment back in February while the tour was still going on.
"I agreed to let Leonard Rowe promote my tour because he convinced me he was an underdog who deserved a chance to prove himself," Kelly told MTV News in a statement. "Like the saying goes, 'No good deed goes unpunished.' "
Rowe also allegedly swindled investors out of money selling shares of certain "Double Up" tour dates to investors for promises of splits on profits.
"I have complete sympathy for all the good people who were swindled by Rowe," Kelly said in a statement, "and I will do everything I can to help them get their money back from him."
