Human Remains Found Inside Stomach Of Crocodile Suspected Of Eating British Tourist Alive!!!!!!!
Killer!? The 14-foot crocodile that was captured by Queensland Parks
& Wildlife Service on Saturday at the spot on the Endeavour River
where 62-year-old Arthur Brooker disappeared last week.
Authorities investigating the disappearance of a British camper in
Australia believe they have found human remains in the stomach of a
large crocodile they have caught.
Cautious police said further tests were expected to be conducted this
week to identify whether the remains were human and were those of
missing Arthur Booker.
However they signalled their confidence by calling off the trapping of
other crocodiles in the Endeavour River near Cooktown yesterday.
Police have advised the Environmental Protection Authority that
trapping is no longer required by their wildlife rangers - clearly
indicating a rogue 4.3 metre male saltwater crocodile caught last
weekend is the likely man-eater which took 62-year-old Mr Booker.
Mr Booker disappeared more than a week ago while checking crab-pots
close to a campsite on the north arm of the Endeavour River. No trace
was found of him despite an intensive four-day search of the river by
police, rangers and emergency service workers in three boats.
Ominously, searchers did find Mr Booker's broken watch, two sandals and
his new video camera on the muddy bank - but no other trace of the
Vietnam veteran, who was born in Banffshire but has lived in Brisbane
for many years.
Mr Booker's wife, Doris, who was waiting in their packed up van to move
on from the camping ground, raised the alarm when her husband failed to
return.
Large crocodile slide marks and claw prints were also found at the
scene, leaving little doubt Mr Booker had been taken by a large
saltwater crocodile.
Three crocodiles were captured in the Endeavour River over the weekend
and transported to Cairns for testing. Parks and Wildlife officers
helped wrestle the animals to a suburban Cairns veterinary clinic,
where the X-rays were taken.
One smaller female has been transported back and returned to the river.
The largest of the three animals was a 4.3m male, and therefore the
most likely man-eating predator. However, both police and wildlife
rangers refused to confirmed any further details.
