`'Hip Hop Weekly Magazine,' DONT F'IN PAY THEIR WORKERS... But They Have Money To Throw A PARTY!!!!!!!

Hip Hop Weekly magazine is getting put on blast by everybody and
their dog today. Apparently they haven’t been paying the writers and
photogs properly, or really not at all. The magazine, headed by the
infamous Dave Mays, radio host Wendy Williams, and others, is about to
be sued by more than 5 photo agencies. The magazine owes one company
over $15,000 and they had the nerve to invite said photo agency. And
the number will likely grow.

Dave and Co. had the audacity to send out invitations to said
photographers and writers for a 50th Issue release celebration. And the
common response by everyone (since people weren’t BCC’d) to the e-mail
thread was HELLS NO–How are you going to invite me to a party when you
can’t even cut my check? Damn!

So it looks like Hip Hop Weekly is too broke to pay the photographers,
photo agencies they steal pics from, and their writers, but not broke
enough to throw a damn party. Get your priorities together peoples.I
personally am not going to give my personal perspective on all this, as
I have definitely worked with the magazine in the past at its
inception. But I will say, all the negative responses are definitley
warranted. And I wouldn’t be surprised if the magazine mysteriously
disappears soon.
