Carmelo Anthony... One of the 100 Most Influential U.S. HISPANICS!!!!!!!

Most of the time people forget that Denver Nuggets forward
Carmelo Anthony has some Boricua in his blood. Although Melo is only
half Puerto Rican, that didn't stop Hispanic Business Magazine placing
him on the 100 Most Influential U.S. Hispanics list this month. Maybe
they like the fact that Melo reps Puerto Rico with the flag tattooed on
his shooting hand, plus he's "engaged" to Boricua Mami Lala Vasquez.

"I want to be No. 1," Anthony told the Rocky Mountain News after
learning he was on the list. "That's my goal. I've got to see who's on
the list and see what I can do to top (them)."

Melo's Puerto Rican father died of cancer when he was two years old,
but he also told the paper that he plans on returning to his father's
homeland next summer.

"It would be the first time I actually get to really be there for a
long period of time," Anthony said. "People can really see me and
interact while I'm there."

Other folks on the list include Manny Ramirez (L.A. Dodgers), Amy
Rodriguez (Women's Olympic soccer team), Luis Castillo (San Diego
Chargers), Tony Romo (Dallas Cowboys), Alex Rodriguez (NY Yankees), and
Federico Pena (former Denver Mayor, current co-chair of Obama's
national campaign).
