Who Robbed Daddy Yankee?!?!?!?!

Daddy Yankee considers himself a worldwide musician. Okay okay okay, its just the western hemisphere, who are we kidding? But international, nonetheless. So last week while on tour in Argentina, reports began to surface that Daddy Yankee was robbed and had several expensive things stolen from him.

While reports were still sketchy at the time of reporting, we've heard from a few people that the reported story isn't entirely true. The singer alleged that all that was taken was his passport, his blackberry and other personal items including a laptop and more. Reports also claims that the prime suspect in the heist is simply a hotel employee who was just looking to come up. He is supposedly in custody at the moment and is being questioned.

But now we are hearing through the grapevine that this might not entirely be the case. While the hotel employee was seemingly in on it, there seemed to be a bigger plot in place. We were told that the original plot was supposed to go something like this (like its a argentine Ocean's 11 or something), the hotel employee was supposed to copy Yankee's room key and enter the room to confiscate personal small items on top of Daddy Yankee's passport (Which was crucial), in order to make it appear to be a random, typical robbery. However, the employee was seemingly working for a larger crime organization that had planned to NOT ALLOW Daddy Yankee to leave the country by confiscating his passport and then requiring them to be paid off by Daddy Yankee for the passport back.

Seems like a pretty weak plan to us. Extortion is nothing new to the hip hop world but trying to extort a rapper by just taking his passport? Seriously, all dude would have had to do was go down to the embassy, show additional ID and that was that. Some "Crime Organization". Unfortunately for the ring leaders, the hotel employee was not just caught in the act, but we're also hearing that he is supposedly cooperating with authorities in return for a lighter sentence. Whoopsy!! Seems like your boy is gonna turn snitch, ya'll better run! We hear the jails in South America are no joke.

Personally, we would like to think that Daddy Yankee was robbed because he has endorsed John McCain. That doesn't sit well with us. A hip hop artist going for a republican? That's like a redneck voting for Obama.
