Cash Money Artists Revolt!? Wb10

They have been one of the most successful record labels in the history of rap music. They have given us classic tracks and even a few classic albums. Back That Azz Up, Go DJ, that one Big Tymers song we can't remember the title of...and more. But in the last few years, lets be honest....Cash Money Records has been a sort of a graveyard. They have had ZERO releases outside of Lil Wayne and Birdman. What was the last album released by Cash Money that wasn't from Birdman or Lil Wayne?......Don't worry....we'll wait.

Juve The Great. Released in 2004. Since then, Juve left the label (again) and more artists have been signed. The thing that is crazy though, is that while more artists have been signed, the amount of releases from the label has decreased. Here is a list of their current artists:

* All Star Cashville Prince
* Birdman
* Dunk Ryders
* Glasses Malone (NOT REALLY SIGNED TO CASH MONEY....MORE SO HOO BANGIN)
* Jay Sean
* Lil Wayne
* Kevin Rudolf (ACTUALLY SIGNED TO UNIVERSAL REPUBLIC)
* Mack 10 (HAS OWN DEAL, JUST DOWN WITH THE CREW)
* T Lopez

Of those artists, who can you see releasing an album or gaining any kind of buzz? Kevin Rudolf has some buzz going right now because of his Lil Wayne assisted track called "Let It Rock", but Rudolf is actually signed to Universal Republic. Not Cash Money....his signing is more of a marketing idea to help brand Rudolf and Cash Money. Think of it similar to how Game was "signed" to G-Unit when in fact is was more of just a marketing partnership.

Now we are hearing that the majority of the label who is not getting the shine they though they would, are starting to get a little restless. There has been talks between the artists and their lawyers to attempt a massive release from the label because of Cash Money only focusing on Wayne and Birdman. Breach of Contract, maybe? We doubt it, but they can probably still get their release with some legal expertise and just trying to man up to the label heads.

Does the Cash Money brand still carry weight or is it just a project by project basis?
