Nixzmary's Mom Gets Up To 43 YEARS In PRISON !!!

The mother of 7-year-old Nixzmary Brown has received up to 43 years in prison for doing nothing as the abused and malnourished child lay dying on their apartment floor.

Nixzaliz Santiago, who was convicted of manslaughter on Oct. 17, was sentenced Wednesday in Brooklyn.

The sentence -- 40 and one-third to 43 years in prison -- closes a case that hastened reforms in New York's child welfare agency.

Santiago was convicted of the same charge as her husband, Cesar Rodriguez, who delivered the fatal blow after Nixzmary was caught stealing yogurt. He received a lesser sentence -- 29 years.

Judge Patricia DiMango said Santiago could have saved her child's life, if she had taken her to the hospital.
