DJ AM has dubbed himself the 'luckiest guy alive' after surviving a plane crash which killed four of his fellow passengers.

And the extent of the injuries can be seen today as AM - real name Adam
Goldstein revealed his shorn head, and the burns he sustained on his
arm in the crash in which he and musician Travis Barker were the sole
survivors.

Goldstein who suffered second and third degree burns on his face and
left arm in the crash last month was seen out running errands in Los
Angeles.

The 35-year-old, who was once engaged to Paris Hilton's best friend
Nicole Richie, returned to his Los Angeles home by bus after vowing
never to fly again, after being released from a Georgia burns unit.

In an update to concerned supporters on his Facebook social networking page, Goldstein wrote he was 'the luckiest guy alive'.

Goldstein has received a boost as he continues his recovery, he is
getting back behind the turntables as rap star Jay-Z's deejay.

In his first performance since the Learjet crash that left him with
second and third degree burns on his face and left arm, Goldstein will
join Jay-Z at the Hollywood Palladium this week.

Goldstein told People magazine: 'He's the greatest rapper in the world. This is the biggest thing that's happened in my career.'

Before the crash, Goldstein and Blink 182 rocker Travis Barker had been
performing at a free concert in Columbia, South Carolina before
boarding the private plane bound for California.

As the plane attempted to take off, it veered off the runway, shot
across the nearby highway and burst into flames on an embankment.

The plane reportedly hit the fence during take-off, pieces of the plane broke off and the fuselage caught fire.
