Four Men 'Slashed' In Times Square Outside 'SAW V' Horror Flick!!!!!!!
A melee erupted in Times Square early Saturday outside a theatre
showing the horror flick "Saw V," and four men were slashed or stabbed
in the pandemonium, witnesses and police sources said.
Dozens of moviegoers swarmed around the AMC Empire 25 on 42nd St., where the movie is on seven screens, shortly after midnight.
Tensions grew and it escalated into a brawl, police said.
"A tinderbox - and it got ugly fast," a police source said.
The fight spilled onto Seventh Ave. and Broadway, terrifying passerby.
"Oh my God!" said a subway station performer who identified himself as Tony Pots and Pans. "It was downright scary."
Four victims, ranging in age from 19 to 25, were stabbed or slashed
in their necks, police said. They were taken to Bellevue and St.
Vincent's Hospitals.
Four others were arrested. George Lawrence, 21, of Queens and Shalik
Jenkins, 18, of the Bronx, were charged with second-degree assault.
John Graves, 23, and Jesus Lopez, 19, were arrested with box-cutters
and charged with criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
Police said the fight was not gang-related. Times Square regulars said there's often chaos on the streets on weekend nights.
"They take over the streets," said Greg Wolf of Manhattan. "Some have
knives, some have pepper spray, some use their fists. They are real
menacing."
