JANET JACKSON's plans to release a diet book have been shelved, because the singer has piled on the pounds, according to reports.

The 42 year old had signed a deal to share her weightloss secrets with supporters after shedding an astonishing 27 kilograms (60 pounds) in just four months back in 2006.

But sources claim the pop superstar has added pounds during her current Rock Witchu tour, prompting her publishing bosses to back out of the deal.

An insider tells the National Enquirer, "It has been postponed indefinitely. It was a mutual decision."
